Maps Can Help You Get From One Place to Another for Survival in a Natural Disaster

These days we use a GPS to maneuver our destination desires, and oh how valuable this form of technology can be! They help us to get where we need to so that we can concentrate on other things…. Now think about survival instructions, a booklet with answers on the “how too” purify water, build a shelter, administer first aid, and protect yourself from the elements to name a few. Would this not be the “GPS” of survival for you in case of an emergency or natural disaster? We think so. That’s why we have created a checklist for items in your emergency preparedness supplies.

Maps do help us get from one place to another, and “so” do survival instructions in case of natural disaster. How reassuring would it be to know what to do, when the need arises to do it? Having this information as a guide to help you take care of basic human needs such as building a shelter, first aid or starting a fire are all necessary information you should have when the need arises.

It might also be wise to review the instructions “before” the need arises, so as to have a basic understanding of how to handle certain situations.

Let’s face it in times of disaster, our emotions may be a little heightened and having some prior knowledge or understanding would really be helpful. You can start by just playing around with the literature so as to become comfortable with the instructions… While you are safe for now and not dealing with an actual storm, it is easier to learn something new when you’re not as stressed. So begin now by “playing” with the instructions to better understand them later.
